The FIDO Alliance Identity Authentication System Conference
Panama City, Republic of Panama, September 20th, 2021 – Digital Innovation Alliance (DIA), formerly known as Smart Card Alliance Latin America – SCALA, will participate through Edgar Betts, Executive Director of DIA, who will speak at AuthenticateCon about Digital Identity in Latin America.

Edgar Betts is a market leader in Digital Innovation and Transformation with experience in industry development of new technologies and introducing them into different countries and vertical markets, including participating the development of a Market Development Cooperation Program (MDCP) fund that was issued by the International Trade Administration – ITA, US Government. Mr. Betts has served in important leadership roles including as a jury in important international awards, contributions in several international publications and magazines. In 2018 he was awarded the Innova Ciudad prize from The Smart City Business America Institute (SCBA) for the development of the Digital Center of Excellence, which he Co-Founder with the National Bureau of Science, Technology, and Innovation – SENACYT and the City of Knowledge Foundation – FCDS. Mr. Betts is currently the President/CEO of Microchip Technologies Solutions – MTS, also holds the position of Executive Director for Digital Innovation Alliance, an international organization representing the digital identity, cybersecurity, and digital transformation industries. He advises international market leaders in the development of flagship projects, using innovation and digital transformation technologies.
